event: trip to ipoh
event coordinator: MY DEAR OLD MOM (again)
place: 般若岩 (Bo Re Yan) Ipoh, malaysia
time: 4 dec 08 - 6 dec 08 (thursday to saturday)



i have to admit it wasn't a wasted or dying-of-boredom trip after all. in fact it was quite fun and fruitful. (^-^)
actually it was due to the fact that we (me and sis) were with two great friends that we knew when we were er, babies.
we could only meet up like wat, once a year during CNY cos they lived in malaysia (obvious).
missed them! especially cos nxt year we'll not be gg back to m'sia for CNY due to certain matters. ):

the one on the extreme left is Yi Hang.
she's the oldest, supposedly 18 eighteen, yeah but she doesnt look like it.
a total comedian with infectious and raving laughter. and she's gonna get her driving license soon! (X
the one on the extreme right is her bro Yi Zhan.
he's the same age as me, 15, has the build of a 15-year-old but unfortunately has the mindset of a 3-year-old.
thanks to him my tolerance has exceeded its maximum limit and improved by leaps and bounds.
and he's also zhihong's long-lost brother, they are too alike (character-wise) except that he's much more annoying.

the point is, we were at this Bo Re Yan, a buddhist temple beside the mountains, where my mom was attending some buddhist course.
we were there as 外护. you know, we help to prepare the food for the people attending courses there to eat.
been that before like 2 or 3 years ago. thankfully this was a shorter course with lesser ppl we only had to wake up at 5.30am.
(before you start exclaiming its the holidays now, read on.)
we used to have to wake up at 4.00am. (ok now go on and shriek.)
we washed veggies and fruits, cut veggies and fruits and yada yada.





we were peeling the skins of the stir-fried peanuts!
it took 4 hours just to fry the peanuts. tedious job. (._.)
but it was worth it cos it contributed to the making of a delicious meal called 雷茶!!! XD





its a rare treat cos vegetarian ones are hard to find it singapore. it was yummy yummy yummy!!! :P

talking about food. heh heh heh.
you could say that all the food in malaysia is yummy(x10)!!! (^O^)
(yeah i know wat u wanna say. -.- but yeap. even if i eat de is vegetarian and in a temple. still super yummy.)
like every few hours i will be eating something. (>.<) sad thing is once again im gg 向前发展. D: urgh. i have a little belly now. *sobs*
one main reason why this is so. cos i ate supper at the late hours of 11pm plus for 2 consecutive days.
and what's more, its INDIAN FOOD!!!!! love it love it~ *shouts and jumps for joy*
i love indian cuisine, especially malaysia's. cos its cheap plus alot plus uber yummy, three-in-one! :D
this shop's not the best i ate before though, the nicest one is in penang! *drools* heh.

this one's plain prata so u cant see much. the first day i called roti prata but it turned out tt meant roti planta.
got a shock when i saw the amount of sugar on it and the oil oozing on it. (O.O)
they literally spam sugar and oil or butter when cooking. seriously. spam.
to order a plain prata, apparently u have to say roti chenai. unlike in singapore.



it is damn oily. and i dont just use the word oily for nothing. see for urself. roti tissue:

oily for you. i was saying tt i would gain at least a kg or 2 just by eating tt. and i ate it, but amazingly didnt grow fat.


woo~ i looooove teh tarik. m'sia's one is even yummier! XD
this one's bubbles sucked away by me liao. doesnt look tt nice. (>.<)

hahas something fun happened too during the trip.
a little stray dog barged in the temple grounds and refused to leave whatsoever.
my sis fed it biscuits and tried to lure him outside the gates. we succeeded.
but later somehow we saw it in the temple grounds again. (-.-)
it sort of self-decided that we were his uh, masters (?!) or something. followed us and all.
i kept wagging its tail when it saw us! (X

it was starving i suppose. it really ate and bit everything.
it actually drank the detergent water we contained in a tub for washing plates. i shooed it away but it kept coming back to drink it.
(-.-)" but amazingly it didnt get poisoned or die or something.
it even went and ate the insect on the floor. (-.-)||| quite disgusting actually.
because of this yi zhan named it 吸尘机. (-.-)?! who knows why...
wth.... he said it was nothing directed at me (ya rite.) and after tt somehow i was labeled its mom and it labeled my child.
zzz... quite dumb actually. quite poor thing to have such a lousy name.
but the cool thing was tt on the last day it started responding to the name! (^-^)
sad thing is tt it wont get to see us maybe for a year. ):
it keeps getting bullied by 5 big stray dogs outside, duno wat it'll do without us to defend it. its so tiny!
but its really filthy though. i only like patted it abit so far. (._.)
duno if it had fleas or wateva on it, and also it looked like it got some skin disease. (>.<)

speaking of insects. i have to report about this.
the mosquitos and houseflies there are totally maddening and annoying.
two descriptive phrases: 猖狂, 厚脸皮
those horrible mozzies caused me to look like i was infected with chicken pox.
MUTANT CHICKEN POX. each pox at least the size of your eye and protruding. all over my limbs, even my face and neck.
totally trying to cover every spare inch of my exposed skin.
if u connected all the "dots" on my limbs u would get the map of a most complicated country on earth.
I WAS ITCHING LIKE CRAZY OR RATHER I AM STILL ITCHING LIKE CRAZY. DX
i looked like some insane lunatic scratching or slapping my limbs every few steps like doing some kind of mad dance.
i refused to use my insect repellent which was
1. expensive
2. stinky
3. no use whatsoever
because like i said the mozzies there are 猖狂, they are like resistant and immune to every type of insect repellent existing.
yuck and they come in big sizes. DX
even now they have left my beautiful arms and calves pockmarked with ugly dots, that are still itching like crazy.
i still look like i am infected with CHICKEN POX, except that these are normal ones. (>.<)

eeyer. im currently using all my might to stop myself from scratching myself until the skin comes off. D:
houseflies.
they. are. the. yuck.
i am already itching like mad due to the horrible mozzies and they buzz over and keep landing on my legs, which worsens it.
they have compound eyes rite, so normal houseflies would fly away just when u hover a hand behind it.
the houseflies there, until you POKE them, then they fly away. graaaaaah! 厚脸皮.
they suck they suck!! i was really tempted to smack them to their death (houseflies and mozzies alike),
and condemn them to an eternity of darkness and torture. (O_O)
but, they should be grateful i 大发慈悲心, or else they would have been reduced to mere unsee-able bits by now.
i never kill insects or anything. (actually i leave the dirty job to my sis. oops. *gasps*)
seriously if u hate creepy-crawlies and such u'll hate tt place.
cos its totally infested with those, and a great diverse of species of them too. muahaha.


ok back to about the trip.
the four of us went out on the second day's afternoon to a certain kinta mall.
taxi was totally scarce there like finding a needle in a haystack. (-.-)|||
we walked out of Bo Re Yan which was like stuck near the mountains super ulu place, to the big road, which was pretty far.
and we were lucky enough to even have flagged down a taxi. (thank goodness)
the mall was well, alright. but frankly the arcade there was pathetic compared to sg's. (-.-)




we watched BOLT!!! (^v^) yayyes~
it is nice too! (i realised when it comes to describing stuff, my vocab is forever limited to: nice. -.-)

i mean it. how many times do you get to see me even posing properly in front of the cam?
but obviously the ugliest are not here(duh).
thanks to yi zhan i have a collection of unglam and horribly stupid and yucky photos.
there were quite a few taken from the angle from under my lovely nostrils but the guy was still idiot enough for me to get hold of his cam.
and yeah. u wont get to see a single shadow of those, cos they are washed clean(duh again).
hahas.
